What is a combi drill and what can it do?

A combi drill is a single tool that combines three jobs: drilling, screwdriving, and hammer drilling into masonry. Quick-click selection switches between the three modes, so one combi drill handles wood, metal, plastic, and brick or concrete. The Gtech Combi Drill adds 21 torque settings and two speeds, making it a genuine do-everything tool for home projects rather than three separate tools you have to buy and store.

What is the best cordless combi drill for home use?

The best cordless combi drill for home use balances power, control, and value rather than chasing the highest specs. The Gtech Combi Drill delivers three modes, 21 torque settings for driving screws without stripping them, two speed gears, and up to 40 minutes of runtime from a 20V lithium-ion battery, with battery, charger, and carry case all included. For most homeowners tackling everyday DIY, it is a cordless combi drill that does everything without the professional-tier price.

How long does the combi drill battery last?

The 20V lithium-ion battery delivers up to 40 minutes of cordless power, enough to work through multiple projects on a single charge. The battery and charger are both included in the box, so there is nothing extra to buy to get started. Being cordless, there is no cable to manage and no need to be near an outlet while you work.

Can the combi drill go into masonry, brick and concrete?

Yes. The combi drill's hammer mode is built exactly for this. In hammer setting the chuck pulses forward as it spins, breaking up brick, block, and concrete so the bit can bore through. Combined with the high-speed 1,700 rpm gear and an all-metal gearbox, it handles masonry fixings and wall anchors, removing the need for a separate hammer drill for occasional jobs.

What size drill bits fit the combi drill?

The keyless chuck accepts combi drill bits from 2mm to 13mm. You swap bits in seconds: twist to open the chuck, load the bit, and twist to tighten, with no separate chuck key to lose. That range covers the standard drill and driver bits most home and DIY projects call for, across wood, metal, plastic, and masonry.

Does the combi drill come as a set with everything included?

Yes. The Gtech Combi Drill comes as a complete set with the 20V battery, charger, and a carry case all included in the box. There are no hidden extras to buy before you can start working. The carry case keeps the drill and battery together and protected between projects, which makes it an easy combi drill set to store and grab when you need it.

What is the difference between a combi drill and a drill driver?

A drill driver drills and drives screws. A combi drill does both and adds hammer action for masonry, so it bores into brick and concrete that a drill driver cannot. If any of your projects touch a masonry wall, the combi drill is the more capable choice. The Gtech Combi Drill gives you everyday wood and metal drilling plus that masonry reach in one tool.

Why choose a Gtech cordless combi drill?

Gtech is award-winning British engineering with 25 years of cordless innovation behind it, founded by inventor Nick Grey. The Combi Drill brings genuinely useful control, three modes, 21 torque settings, two speeds, an LED light, and an all-metal build, into a cordless tool at far better value than the premium brands, with battery, charger, and case included. It is the British brand your neighbors have not discovered yet.

Excellent Tool

"I bought this to replace a drill that I've had for 24 years. It was not cheap, but there was a special offer on which I couldn't resist. It comes in a well designed case which also holds the battery and charger securely. I have had numerous other products from Gtech so I know it will give good reliable service. It also looks classy."

Limited usefulness

"Disappointing performance for the price . Speed setting 2 / hammer drill setting is ineffective , as the speed / power fades when placed under drilling load …ie. 6mm new masonry bit barely started a hole into normal house brick , before speed /performance slowed significantly. Used same bit in my other older cordless drill , same set up , totally different , far better performance. So , it’s really a rather expensive screwdriver drill …not a practical proposition as a combi …just don’t bother if you occasionally need to drill into a wall to fix a rawl plug / screw fitting."

My own drill.

"After having always borrowed a drill, it’s finally great to have my own. This combo drill is well made and looks good in its black and gold. To be honest I’ve only used it once so far, not being particularly good at DIY but it did the job it was required to do. Very pleased with it."

All round excellent.

"As the proud owner of a Gtech Hoover, Strimmer and Hedge Trimmer I was happy to order the Combi Drill. It is as expected, up to Gtech's high standards. Further, I ordered it online at a reasonable discount made even better by the use of a code saving at least a third of the retail price. Finally, the drill was delivered the day after I ordered it. Gtech cannot be bettered."

Q&A

Combi Drill — One Tool for Drilling, Driving and Hammering

A combi drill is the most versatile drill you can own because it does three jobs in one body: drilling, screwdriving, and hammer drilling into masonry. The Gtech Combi Drill switches between all three with quick-click selection, so a single tool handles wood, metal, plastic, brick, and concrete. With 21 torque settings, two speed gears, and up to 40 minutes of cordless runtime from a 20V lithium-ion battery, it is the combi drill built to be the only drill most homes need.

Cordless Combi Drill — Power Without the Cable

A cordless combi drill frees you from the outlet, so you can work anywhere from the garage to the far end of the yard. The Gtech cordless combi drill runs on a 20V lithium-ion battery delivering up to 40 minutes of use per charge, with the battery and charger included in the box. No cable to trail across the work area, no extension lead to position, and no compromise on power. For DIY, repairs, and home projects, a cordless combi drill is simply more practical than a corded one.

Best Cordless Combi Drill for Home and DIY Use

The best cordless combi drill for home use is the one that balances power, control, and value rather than chasing professional-tier specs you will never use. The Gtech Combi Drill earns that place with three modes, 21 torque settings for stripping-free screwdriving, two speeds for precision and pace, an all-metal gearbox for durability, and a complete kit in the box. For homeowners who want one capable tool instead of a wall of single-purpose ones, it is among the best cordless combi drill options in its class.

Combi Drill Set — Everything Included in One Box

A combi drill set should arrive ready to work, and this one does. The Gtech Combi Drill set includes the 20V lithium-ion battery, the charger, and a carry case, with nothing extra to buy before your first job. The carry case keeps the drill and battery together and protected between projects, so the whole combi drill set stays organized on a shelf and ready to grab. For anyone buying their first proper drill, a complete set removes the guesswork of matching batteries and chargers separately.

Combi Drill vs Drill Driver — What's the Difference?

A drill driver does two jobs: drilling and screwdriving. A combi drill adds a third, hammer action, which lets it bore into masonry like brick and concrete that a standard drill driver cannot handle. If your projects ever touch a masonry wall, mounting a shelf into brick or fixing into concrete, the combi drill is the tool that covers it. The Gtech Combi Drill gives you the drill driver's everyday wood and metal capability plus the masonry reach, so you are not caught out when a job calls for hammer mode.

Combi Drill for Masonry, Brick and Concrete

Hammer mode is what separates a combi drill from an ordinary drill. In hammer setting, the chuck pulses forward rapidly as it spins, breaking up brick, block, and concrete so the bit can bore through. The Gtech Combi Drill's quick-click hammer mode, paired with its high-speed 0 to 1,700 rpm gear and all-metal gearbox, gives you the action needed for masonry fixings, wall plugs, and anchor points. For the occasional masonry job around the home, it removes the need for a separate dedicated hammer drill.

21 Torque Settings — Drive Screws Without Stripping

Torque control is what stops a powerful drill from wrecking your work. The Gtech Combi Drill's 21 torque settings let you dial in exactly how much force the tool applies in screwdriver mode, so screws seat to the right depth without stripping the head or splitting the material. Low settings handle delicate fixings and soft woods; higher settings drive long screws into tougher material. This range of control is one of the clearest signs of a quality combi drill over a basic single-power drill.

Keyless Chuck and Combi Drill Bits

The keyless chuck takes combi drill bits from 2mm to 13mm and swaps them in seconds, no chuck key to hunt for. You twist to open, drop in the bit, and twist to tighten. That 13mm capacity covers the standard drill and driver bits home and DIY projects rely on, across wood, metal, plastic, and masonry. The all-metal chuck grips bits securely under load, which matters when you are pushing through dense material at high torque.

Two Speed Settings and Variable Speed Trigger

Matching speed to the task is what gives clean, controlled results. The Gtech Combi Drill offers a low gear at 0 to 450 rpm for precision screwdriving and a high gear at 0 to 1,700 rpm for fast drilling. Within either gear, the variable-speed trigger lets you ease into the power gradually, so you start a hole accurately before opening up. Two speeds plus a variable trigger means one drill that is gentle enough for fine work and quick enough for heavy drilling.

Built-In LED Headlight and All-Metal Build

The details separate a tool you tolerate from one you reach for. The Gtech Combi Drill includes a built-in LED headlight that illuminates the work area, so you can see exactly where the bit lands in dark corners, under sinks, and in tight spaces. The all-metal gearbox and chuck maximize performance and stand up to repeated use, while the balanced, ergonomic body keeps the drill comfortable through extended jobs rather than tiring your wrist.

40 Minutes of Cordless Runtime

Runtime decides whether a project gets finished in one go. The Gtech Combi Drill's 20V lithium-ion battery delivers up to 40 minutes of cordless power, enough to work through multiple tasks on a single charge before you need to top up. Because the battery and charger are included, there is no extra outlay to get the advertised runtime, and lithium-ion holds its charge between projects so the drill is ready when you next pick it up.

Why Gtech for Your Combi Drill

Gtech has engineered cordless tools for over 25 years, founded by British inventor Nick Grey on a simple belief: everyday jobs can be done smarter. The Combi Drill applies that thinking to home DIY, three modes, 21 torque settings, two speeds, an LED light, and an all-metal build, packaged complete with battery, charger, and case at far better value than the premium power-tool brands. Rated 4.7 stars by owners and shipped free to US addresses with a 2-year warranty, Gtech is the British brand your neighbors have not discovered yet.
